Naturalization Record hunt

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Naturalization Record hunt

Post by mcoccaro »

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone could help me locate a US naturalization record for Gerardo Pignato of Picerno, Italy. Born around 1862-07-06. Or his first immigration record to the US ~1891 or 1887.

Is this him? You can search on Ancestry.

Jerrard (Girardo) Pignato
1862–1947
BIRTH 6 JUL 1862 • Picerno, Potenza, Basilicata, Italy
DEATH 13 OCT 1947 • Kings, New York, USA

Naturalization records:

You will have to do the following:

These generally do not appear online.

1) Search county or records where the said ancestor immigrated and/or resided.

2) Submit a request to USCIS with all the info you can supply (more the better and accuracy key), expect a lengthy delay, maybe a year (I have been waiting over 6+ months for a records search) due to the pandemic.
