Help understanding term in processetti consent

Post by MariaMadonna »

Thank you! Please help in understanding term referring to groom father, Francesco Orabona, in 1810 processetti Antonio Orabona and Margherita di Costanza marriage: does "capo maestro muratore" refer to patriarch or is it part of his occupational description ?

Also appears in bride's consent form, so.

"Capo Maestro Muratore" refers to his occupation as "Chief Master Mason"...

Wow. What about Gennaro di Costanza in bride's consent. Do I also see the term for her father ?

I don't see it. I see something that looks like "fabbricante" (manufacturer). It's possible the fathers worked together. Wouldn't be the first time...

It says that Emanuela was the widow of the deceased "Caporal Gennaro di Costanza".
"Caporale" may be both the first step in military hierarchy, as well as the head of a team of workers.
