Where to find Italian Criminal Records

Post by Sunnydays »

I have a relative who may have a criminal record in Naples, Italy sometime between 1930-50. Does anyone know where I might access such records? I do not see them in the Naples archive.

They are probably filed with the court of Naples. You would no doubt have to write a request which may or may not be fulfilled at discretion of the court. You won't find anything online, I'm pretty certain.

It is possible to find criminal trials up to 1938 in the databases of the State Archives
of Naples. In any case, for subsequent periods, you can always write to the State Archives of Naples.
