Hi, can someone please translate this birth record for Guiseppe Conte:

Does it mention his death?

I think so, because after the name "Giuseppe" it reads "and I acknowledge ??? without life". I can't read the word represented by my ???.

Could be "essere" - being without life.

You can read the last two words after the name Giuseppe - "senza vita" which means "without life". That's a tip off.

I believe it's "Giuseppe, e che riconsosco essere senza vita" meaning "Giuseppe, and that I acknowledge being (or "to be") without life."

I'm sure someone else will confirm this, and translate the entire record for you.

I'm not sure if he would have a death record or not.

I suspect he was born alive but didn't survive long, because they usually record "nato morto" (born dead) for stillborn. Maybe someone else knows.


It actually reads "Giuseppe, e che io riconsosco essere senza vita" meaning "Giuseppe, and that I acknowledge being (or "to be") without life."

I omitted "io" which means "I".
