Seen here are the marriage and death records (right, #69) for Gaetano Projetto/Caputo.
With both records, it seems like his "parents", or at least the people that raised him, were Francesco Caputo and Isabella Cutrone

Additionally, when Gaetano's daughter Angela got married... what does #6 say? Seems like it says her surname was Projetto but was to be changed to Caputo?
Were Francesco and Isabella Gaetano's biological parents? Or were they not, making him a foundling? Did Gaetano and his children end up changing their surname to Caputo after Gaetano's adopted or actual parents?

Re: Foundling, adoption? -- records translation
I am reading that Gaetano was a founding who was raised and educated by deceased Francesco Caputo. At his marriage he was assisted by Isabella Cutrone who was his "allevatrice" - the person who cared for and raised him.
The notation in his daughter's marriage appears to correct Gaetano's surname which was erroneously written as Caputo on his daughter's birth act.

Thanks T... I know Francesco Caputo and Isabella Cutrone were a couple as I am actually related to Isabella through a different ancestor. I know that Gaetano named his first daughter Isabella, which I now know was actually named after his mother "figure".Tessa78 wrote: 14 Jun 2021, 22:14 I am reading that Gaetano was a founding who was raised and educated by deceased Francesco Caputo. So I'm assuming that means Angela's surname was actually meant to be Projetto too? On her children's birth/marriages, it lists it as Caputo, but I'm assuming that's because that's what it was on her birth record:

Yes. At the marriage, it does not appear that there was an official correction, but that Angela presented her birth act, and her mother and other witnesses testified that it was written as her father, Gaetano Caputo, in error since he was Projetto.
I concur that Francesco Caputo and Isabella Cutrone were a couple. They raised Gaetano.
