Costabile and DeLuca
Costabile and DeLuca
I am researching my m.Grandmother.
Specifically, I am looking for Dominic Costabile (b.24 jul 1895 in Calvanico, Salerno Province) ... I have Alexander Costabile as his father and Rose Ardorine as mother. I've managed to locate quite a bit of information on Dominic in the US, but am lost tracking this.
Also, I am looking for Michael DeLuca (b.1860 Italy) married to Agnes Sabers (b.1860 Italy) ... their daughter Lizette DeLuca was born in Connellsville, Pennsylvania.
Any help would be greatly appreciated ... I'm good with the local research, but lost tracking it further.
Thanks

You say you're lost keeping track of this...do you mean you have no way of organizing your info? Have you downloaded or purchased a program to keep your family info organized?rfornal wrote:I am researching my m.Grandmother.

Re: Costabile and DeLuca
I guess I should amend the original statement: I am looking for any information on Alexander Costabile and Rose Ardorine on the Costabile side (emigration/immigration for Dominic, if possible).
Also, I forgot a small detail that might make things easier for Agnes Sabers; the last name is also listed as Salura in some records.
Sorry about that!

Re: Costabile and DeLuca
I'm a programmer/data management specialist by training. Tracking the data is the easy part for me and general web-based research as well. In stating "tracking," I was talking more specifically about doing the basic research for the Italian members of my ancestry - US, German, Polish, Irish, and British have been remarkably easy for me (given 15 years of putting it all together).
I just never seem to get anywhere on the Italian side of the tree (kind of sparse).
Thanks again!

Re: Costabile and DeLuca
Didn't have the manifest information ... it is possible that the parents had passed away - all I have are the names; no dates for birth or death.
Thanks!

Re: Costabile and DeLuca
More information than I've found in YEARS of looking ...
This could be the same Dom Costabile in both listings (could he have gone back and forth twice?) I'll check with the family over the weekend or early next week.
VJ - might be an incredible lead there (Sabarete) ... I noted line 24 showed a Costabile ... and the children's names match 3 of the De Luca children ...

Re: Costabile and DeLuca
Bob, thanks for getting back with us!
It's great that you may have new leads to run down.
Good catch on the Costabile on the Sabarete/De Luca
manifest also going to Connellsville!
Noticed a lot of Costabiles in Mt Pleasant on 1920 & 1930 census,
they seem to be older than Domenic. Uncles? Maybe their manifests
may hold some more clues?
And Sabarete? Appears to be a pretty unique name at Ellis Island.
Perhaps it was mis-spelled?
Please let us know if you need anything else.
And thank you for including us in your research on your
family! Valarie
