we found this letter and have tried to translate with some success. we established that filippo and antonia were married and the child is baptised as Luigi. what we cant work out amongst all the names mentioned whether they are the parents or whehter they have adopted the child. we are looking into our Pintus family history and before taking the next step contacting for church records in Cagliari we want to be as clear as possible.
any help appreciated.

Re: translating latin to see if adopted
Hi
This is a Baptism certificate, with difficult handwriting and not-so good Latin
The child Luigi was Antonia and Filippo's son: "infantem nactum (!) die procedenti (spl) ex coniugibus Philippo Pintus et Antonia Simoni (?)"
The following names are those of the grandparents
Giovanni Antonio and Anna Maria Pischedda were the paternal grandparents
Giacomo and Maria Rigano (?) the maternal grandparents
At the end there are the godparents' names: Luigi Congiu, and Vincenza Ferro, who was also the midwife
Ciao

Re: translating latin to see if adopted
Thank you both so much. It gives us something to explore further. Out of interest and for future reading of Latin in old documents what indicates they are the grandparents?
Thanks again
