Can you help me with translating the attached marriage certificate 1888 for Antonio Maraviglia and Maria Siena? I am especially interested in the bride's information and date of marriage.
Thank you so very much,
Martha

Re: Help with Translating Marriage Certificate 1888
This is not a marriage act, but rather a request to publish the intent to marry. It was required to do this in case there was a legal opposition to the marriage. This is actually the 2nd Pubblicazione
This publication was in S. Paolo di Civitate
Groom: Antonio Maria Maraviglia, unmarried, farmer, born in Volturara Appula, residing S. Paolo di Civitate, age 24, son of unknown parents.
Bride: Maria Siena, widow, farmer, born in S. Paolo di Civitate, age 39, daughter of deceased Pasquale, and of deceased Maria Giuseppa Paliferro
This was posted for 3 days on the door of the Town Hall, and resulted in no opposition.
The document is dated 30 September 1888.
Marriage usually took place within 6 months.
HERE is the link to the actual Marriage Record. #24, dated 18 October 1888.

Thank you.
Would Antonio be considered an orphan because he did not know his parents?

Antonio was an abandoned infant. Here is the link to the extract of his birth act which was in his marriage processetti (attachments/documents needed for marriage) that mmogno posted above.mgmeraviglia wrote: 09 Feb 2022, 21:31 Thank you.

Antonio's birth act is dated 24 September 1863 at 1 PM at the town hall in San Paolo di Civitate
Before the official appeared Concetta Marraffino, 72, midwife, living in this town in Strada Vico Tongarelli, to present a male child who was "exposed" (found) at her door about 9 AM today, and appeared to be about 1 day old. The official gave the child the name Antonio Maria Maraviglia.
The child was baptized the same day.
