Giuseppe was born on April 1, 1873 to Maria Fedele Tristano, daughter of dec Luigi, age 22, a spinner living in Giovinazzo. She was the wife of Tommaso Secondo, age 32. Giuseppe was born in the house on Piazza Cattedrale. The midwife who assisted with the birth was Maria Giuseppa Marinelli, the daughter of dec Vincenzo, age 46. It was also she who presented the male infant at the town hall, as Tommaso was absent from the town.
