Yes, Luigi was a foundling (proietto noted below his name.
He was presented by the receiver of the abandoned at the convent of San Francesco. The official gave the child the name Luigi Fabri.

Here is the marriage, in 1888, of Diego Seminatore, and Lucia Lo Giudice.

There is no indication in the records that these are Luigi's parents.
If there had been a "recognition," his surname would usually have been changed to that of his father.
Perhaps this couple cared for him and raised him?

Here is a son, Calogero Seminatore, born to the couple in June 1891 (same month as Luigi above). The child was born without life. This would indicate that Luigi could not have been born to the couple in that same month and year.

Luigi's Birth act is dated 26 JUne 1891, as you stated. The child appeared to be 2 days old when presented to the official. The child, Calogero, who was born to the couple without life, was born 20 June 1891.
Perhaps the couple took in the child Luigi to provide care.

Thank you Tessa.

Diego Seminatore, and Lucia Lo Giudice became guardians for Luigi.
Diego and Lucia had a daughter in 1893 called Diega Seminatore.

On Luigi's 1966 obit, he lists two sisters Diega and Rose.
On Luigi's 1912 ship record 2nd page, he is to visit Brother in Law Vincenzo Gati, that person was Diega Seminatore's husband.

Search for Rose later.
Note: Luigi droped the Fabri & used Fabi as his surname around 1918.
