The Municipality of Altamura delivered a copy of the birth certificate on November 12, 1919. For this document it collected a tax of 80 cents of lira.

Thank you. Guessing that was needed for his passport. It was another year and a half before he emigrated to America.

No. He (my grandfather) married for the first and only time in 1924 in the Bronx, NY.
