I am looking for information on this family:

Bartolo Minetti (probably Bartolomeo Minetto) 1825, married María Magdalena Caviglia 1827 in Italy, we also believe that they had some children there, the first of whom we have knowledge of is Santiago Minetto 1852. Therefore, their marriage we calculate should be between 1845-1850. And we also think that they emigrated to Uruguay around 1860. Their son Manuel Cleriano Minetti 1867 was born in Paysandú, Uruguay.

Probable locations: Martina Olba, Piampaludo, Tiglieto, Aquabianca

Any clues are greatly appreciated!

Hi, I believe your ancestors came from the area between Genoa and Savona, but there are no records for the period from around 1813 to 1865. Some town have church records online, but they are few. Probably the towns from which they could come were: Rossiglione, Arenzano, Sassello especially, and other municipalities. The surnames are popular in that area as is the very popular first name Bartolome also. Regarding Santiago in Italian it corresponds to Giacomo, but we cannot help more because there are no records.

If you have patience you can search here abt the arrivals in Montevideo https://www.familysearch.org/search/cat ... %20Library
to find the arrival is very important abt the ages and so the birthyears.. if Santiago was born on 1852, and Manuel Cleriano was born on 1867, in these years from 1852 to 1867 the couple maybe had other children.. to enlarge the search and to find more and to check all data provided is very helpful.. The peoples in the past was illiterates and no ables in the count.. The fatal error is always the age.. so in death record rarely is correct... but by the arrival is always correct because they presented the passport...
