I am applying for dual-citizenship through my Paternal Grandfather, who was never naturalized as a US Citizen, born in Italy in 1883 and immigrated sometime around 1901.
I am having a great deal of trouble locating:
-my Grandfather and Grandmother's marriage certificate, and
-my Father and Mother's marriage certificate
That being said, I have everything else. My Grandfather and Father's death certificates list my Grandmother and Mother as "wife", respectively.
Also, on my Father's Birth Certificate, my Grandmother is listed along with my Grandfather, very clearly.
In addition to this, on my Birth Certificate, my mother is listed clearly with my father.
My question is: Do I need these Marriage Certificates? If I cannot find them, what do I do?
Thank you in advance for the help!

This will, as always, depend on the policy of the consulate where you present your application.
The officials have some level of discretion, so your best bet might be to assemble the most accurate and complete set of documents (including the correction of any discrepancies) and see what the response is.
They might ask you to obtain "no record found" letters from the civil authorities where you suspect the marriages took place.
It's impossible to know with certainty, so apply and see how they respond. Just curious, at which consulate do you intend to apply?

My appointment is with the Consulate in Miami, Florida in March 2023. I have a lot of "No Record Found" documents for the two marriages, however my sister was working with the "Italy Mondo" agency and they mentioned something to her about needing a Judgment that states the individuals were for all intents and purposes married in the eyes of the law due to years together and having children, being identified on birth certificates, death certificates, etc.
I am not aware of the process to obtain this judgment, so I've reached out to ICA and Coco Ruggeri to discuss my case, costs, etc.
We are so close and I would hate to have something like this hang us up for another 3-5 years.

I should have added that my sister is working with the Italian Consulate in San Francisco, California.
