Marriage Translation - Key Facts

Post by rp76226 »

On the following link, who are the parents of the bride - Giuseppa Falcone and groom - Alessandro Puma? What is the date married? Are there any grandparents mentioned?

Is this your Puma family?

with his parents as Gaetano Puma (son of Alessandro Puma and Ignazia Ventura) and Maria Teresa Arancio (daughter of Serafino Arancio and Angela Germano).

A Facebook contact by another Puma from a ancestor different town than my relatives and thus no found link between us, gave me the same photo with actual names on it along with Americanized names. My own research shows a different wife (Giuseppa Falcone) for Alessandro Puma than you do (Ignazia Ventura). See link and check each name:

After further research, your Alessandro Puma and Ignazia Ventura are the grandparents of the Alesandro Puma who is married to Giuseppa Falcone. Gaetano Puma who is married to Maria Arancio is the father of the younger Alessandro Puma and the son of the older Alessandro Puma.

Have found several more Puma generations for the Alessandro Puma family from Montedoro. They eventually trace back to Racalmuto where one Antonino Puma, born in Racalmuto, married and died in Montedoro, and are related to me but not through my Racalmuto family ancestors. They relate to me through my aunt's husband whose ancestors trace back to Montedoro.

Anna's surname is Sferrazza, a name which appears in the town. It might be so clear unless you zoom in, but you can see the tail of the letter "f" after the S.

Just confirming the following:

Alessandro Puma's parents were Gaetano Puma and Maria Arancio.

Giuseppa Falcone's parents were the deceased Onofrio Falcone and Anna Sferrazza.

Dated 22 October 1873.

Great pics!
