Hello,
I have two more questions from the following marriage record.
In the first red square, are they saying that the individual was born in Nove, or does that say/mean something else? In the second red square, what is the surname? Is it Cassalli or Cazzalli?
Thank you!

It is more helpful to us if you can post a link to the complete record.

The "di Nave" that mmogno references is in regard to the father of Pellegrino Brandini -- deceased Signore Brandini di Nave (of Nave)
Nave is a frazione (hamlet, village) of the Comune of Lucca.
I believe that the surname is after the word you highlighted. It is Spagnolo, a name found in Lucca.
The other name may be part of the given name, or part of a double surname with Spagnolo, but I cannot find it in the town.

The letters you read as s's or z's are a "j" and a "g" to me.research12 wrote: 26 Jan 2023, 18:10 Hello,

Anyway, I can't find a surname like "Coigalli" or similar...

Thank you for your reply. I also thought it looked like "jg," but when I couldn't find anything similar to that, I assumed I was wrong and that they might be s or z. But perhaps it really is "jg."PippoM wrote: 27 Jan 2023, 08:36
