D'Angerio family from somewhere in Salerno

Post by carolc »

I thought this family was from Laviano, but I haven't found anyone with this last name in the records for that town. If they are from another location in Salerno, is there a way to narrow the search?

I do not see the name in Salerno, but in these towns and provinces.

D`Angerio 19.68 San Vitaliano Napoli
D`Angerio 18.42 Napoli Napoli
D`Angerio 6.30 Nola Napoli
D`Angerio 2.92 Caserta Caserta
D`Angerio 2.58. Luogosano Avellino

On what source do you base the Salerno origins?

Any other information about this family? First names, dates?

Domenico Bruscino married Vincenza D'Angerio and came to the US with their first born children, born 1909 and 1910. When Vincenza died, he went to Salerno and remarried so I assumed that was where these families are from. I found lots of Bruscino names in Laviano records but they don't have for the years I need to find his birth record (abt 1881).

According to this arrival manifest in March 1911, Domenico Bruscino (and family) listed a last residence as Naples. Wife Vincenza D'Angerio, and children Giovanna and Domenico have their names crossed out. Either they did not sail at this time, or they are listed somewhere else in the ship manifest.
According to this record, Domenico is age 29, so born about 1881-2.

EDIT TO ADD:

Vincenza and the children sailed later that year... in September 1911.
On this manifest her son is listed as Michele.
She lists Napoli as her last residence, leaving her father Edwardo (Di Angerio) in Naples.
