The Tommaso I have often encountered so far in the baptismal register of the parish of S. Caterina is a U.I.D. So he belonged to the elite of the village. You have to be a bit patient, because it is a very long register that goes from 1736 to 1852, so more than 100 years and it will certainly take a while before I have it ready and can upload it.

Some of this is a bit new to me. I have only been doing ancestry since 2018 and learning as I go. Any help you can offer is appreciated. This Tomaso Allio (1790) has stumped many of us, some much more educated on this than me, for a long time. I am going to Italy in September of this year an plan to stop by the churches in Bovalino and Benestare while we are there in the hopes we can find some documentation. BTW, what is U.I.D.? Thank you, Brian

In churches you will find little to no information. Everything has been transferred to the Episcopal Archive in Locri. The current Bovalino is located on the sea. In Tommaso's time people still lived inland in the current Bovalino Superiore.
U.I.D. (Utrinque Iuris Doctor "doctor of both laws") is a scholar who has acquired a doctorate in both civil and church law.

They had five children: Giuseppa Allio 1811 to 1841, Maria Giuseppa 1811, Maria Teresa 1817 to 1833, Francesco 1824, Giuseppa 1829.

I am searchng for Tomasso Allio,’s parents. Any info about them would be helpful.

InS eptember I am driving through Bovalino and Benestare. Main reason is to make contact with a few churches to see, if by chance, they may still have documentation regarding the parents of Tomaso Allio (1790 to 1851) married to Luigia Blefari (1791 to 1879). I know its a long shot but have decided to give it a shot.

Can anyone recommend the churches to visit. I knoe several churches have changed names over the years. Brian Allio

Over the past several months I have been searching for information on Tomaso Allio 1790 married to Luigia Blefari 1791 in Bovalino Italy. During my searching I came across a person in the state archives that helped me narrow down some information on the Allio family back in the 1700's.

Her contact information is ORCIUOLI BARBARA <barbara.orciuoli@cultura.gov.it>. She provided files out of the cave of archives that was somewhat helpful. This information was not available on line but only
through purchase $15. Must have come from the churches in the area I think.

If someone can help me attach I will send what I received from the archives. Brian Allio
