adoption record

Post by carla370 »

Hello

I found this a number of years ago when I was transcribing microfilms from the LDS church. This is my great grandfather's second marriage: Francesco De Cicco to Luisa Greco in 1901 Spezzano Piccolo after his first wife Maria Porco passed away. Maria Porco is my blood relative however Luisa is not.

I believe it talks about adoption or bringing his two children (my grandfather Pietro and my great aunt Michelina) into the marriage of Luisa Greco. I wanted to check if it also talks about her having any children, bringing them into the marriage, I am not able to find anything of her other than her birth 1865 in Celico. Records in Spezzano Piccolo do not seem to go beyond this date. I believe they had a son (who thrived and came to Canada), a son who passed just after birth Domenico and a daughter whose name was Assuntina. It's this Assuntina with whom I am having trouble. I believe she passed away also, shortly after her birth but there are no records. I have Domenico's birth and death index already as well as Antonio's birth.

I am providing the document in three images so the entire thing can be read and I would be sincerely appreciative of any translations provided.

Kindest regards
Carla DeCicco Edwards

This is the birth certificate of Luisa Greco, daughter of the spouses Francesco Greco, 25, a laborer, and Maria Falcone, 26, a spinner. The baby girl was born in Celico on January 6, 1865. Declarant Teresa Falcone, spinner. Witnesses Gabriele Pantusa, 47, laborer and Nicola Pantusa, 50, laborer. Luisa was baptized on the same day.The note says that Luisa married Francesco De Cicco in Celico on November 7, 1901, act no. 18.
