The processetti would have been written between the years 1684 to 1720. I was hoping they might be stored in St. Pietro Church in Cerignola. This is because in the year 1684, my 6th-Great-Grandfather Andrea di Gennaro (Francesco Antonio de Gennaro's son) moved to the fief of Orta of the Jesuit Fathers (now the Municipality of Orta Nova). I learned this from Andrea's marriage processetto (stored in Troia, Puglia). It appears Andrea was the only child of Francesco Antonio and Andreana Palumbo to have moved to Troia, as there are no records of any kind for any of Andrea's siblings in Troia.
In any case, St. Pietro Church in Cerignola is the parish that issued the certificate for Andrea's marriage processetti stating that Andrea lived in Orta Nova from 1684 to 1697. I am hoping that Andrea had siblings living in Orta Nova during this general time period, and perhaps their marriage processetti are still stored there - I'm hoping their marriage processetti will tell me more about Francesco Antonio so that I can trace my paternal lineage further back!
The problem is, a researcher told me that as far as he knows, there are no records stored in Cerignola from the town of Orta from the time period I'm looking for (1684 to 1720). So I am now on a hunt to find these records!
I have a few "hunches" about where they could be, including the following places - but it's difficult for me to "follow up" on these records, because I do not speak fluent Italian!
Possibility #1) Diocesan Archive of Ascoli Satriano (I believe this is the closest Diocesan Archive to St. Pietro Church... it's very possible the Marriage Processetti in particular were transferred from St. Pietro to the Diocesan Archive)
Possibility #2) Rome, Lazio (I am hoping this is not the case, but since Orta Nova was a fief of the Jesuit Fathers, it appears that the records we're looking for could have been transferred to Rome).
Possibility #3) St. Pietro Church in Cerignola (this is the parish that issued the certificate for Andrea's marriage processetti stating that Andrea lived in Orta Nova from 1684 to 1697... a researcher told me he didn't think they had records this old there, but I haven't been able to confirm with this parish whether that's true or not).
If anyone has any suggestions for me, I would sincerely appreciate!!!
Thanks so much for any help that can be provided!! Have a great day
Tony
