Request Line Translation on Death Record

Post by teckat »

Request Line Translation on 1849 Death Record for Antonino Trapani.

Line item in question is written before his name ??

Also this death record is a mess, Antonino was about 70yrs old when he died,& not 60yrs.as shown, first wife (Francesca Riggio) died 1803, second wife, married in 1804( Vincenza Piscione ) died 1855.

Antonio's father ( Pietro ) listed is correct--women named not his wife--Vincenza Piscione was Antonino's wife.

Antonino Trapani died in the hospital (nella Ospedale la Misericordia appears before his name) and the declarants of his death were both gravediggers. Perhaps they got their information mixed up when they reported the death. Vincenza Piscione is listed as his deceased mother.

Vincenza Piscione also died in the hospital.

Hi Tesssa, Most welcome for all the information.

We continue to find many mistakes on Death records.
Point to note; on their daughter Angela Trapani, her 1851 death record shows her mother as dead, when we know she( Vincenza Piscione ) died in 1855.

Yes, death acts can have errors, especially when those reporting the death are not related to the deceased.
Again in Anna's case, declarants were the gravediggers.
