Help finding info about Angelina Matera

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to locate more information about my great-grandmother Angelina Matera. What I do have is one 1940 census document that lists her children and her marriage to my great-grandfather Serafino (Sam) Olivieri (all of them living in Brooklyn), a 1940 death record for him (lists his parents as Saverio Olivieri and Grazia di Maggio), and that she died in April 1972 (buried at St. John's Cemetery in Queens). I believe my grandma said that they came from Bari before she passed away, though I'm not sure if it was just one of them or both. I did find a birth record for Serafino from Gravina with the same name parents, so I'm assuming that's him (not certain though), but I could not find info on her from Italy or any Ellis island documents that I'm sure about. I see records for some with the name Angela Matera, one from Gravina named Angela Maria Matera, but I'm not sure this is her. If Serafino and Angelina followed common Italian naming customs for their children, Angelina's mother should be named Rosa and her father should be named Francesco, as my grandma Rose's older siblings in order were named Sam, Grace, Frank, and Ralph. If someone could locate an Italian birth record or an Ellis Island record that likely belongs to Angelina that would be greatly appreciated!

What are Serafino and Angela's approximate year of birth?

Were they married in Italy or USA?

When did they immigrate?

Can you post the birth act you found for Serafino in Gravina?

Here is a birth act for an Angela Matera born in 1894 in Andria, Bari.
While this certainly needs to be confirmed, it should be considered. Unfortunately, there is no annotation for a marriage.
Father is Francesco Matera [son of deceased Michele], age 34, gardener
Mother is Rosa Sgarra [daughter of deceased Savino], age 25, spinner, his wife
Date of birth is 27 June 1894, ad child is given the name Angela.

The above Angela is NOT your ancestor.
I was able to find another Angela Matera born to the same couple 2 years later (first Angela most likely died.) It had an annotation of marriage with Emanuele Marzano.

ALSO... the 1940 US Census lists their ages as 43 and 44 respectively. So born about 1897 and 1896.

I think there is a good chance this is her, as she is listed in that Ellis Island record as going to her friend Carmela Olivieri in Stamford, Ct. (This may have been my grandma's aunt and one of her sisters is named Carmela Olivieri, possibly after her). However, I cannot find the birth record in Italy for her. I noticed it says she was born in Matera though but that she lived in Gravina?

I think this may be her, but I wonder why she would immigrate as Angela Maria but be born Angela Michele? I also wonder why we knew her as just Angelina and not Angela.
