Missing birth record

Post by onslo234 »

Hello everyone-

I have miraculously discovered the Registro Delle Nascite for Grandfather. It confirms the spelling of the name (Igory Tchircow) and the location and date of birth: Milano, March 8, 1909. However, I cannot find the birth registered within the Atti Di Nascite records. Family search contains these records and I have scanned through them several times but I just cannot find it.

I am not entirely sure how the Registro Delle Nascite information differs from the Att Di Nascite but I know the Atti Di Nascite usually includes signatures of the parents, etc.

Perhaps some of the records aren't available in Family Search.

Figured I'd ask if anyone had any ideas.

Can you post a link to the Registri delle Nascite, and Atti delle Nascite?

Certainly!

Here is the FamilySearch link to the Registri delle Nascite:

I also found an entry in the Lista di Leva for my grandfather, if it helps:

There are three Atti delle Nascite sources in Familysearch for 1909:

Source 1 has one section for March 8, beginning with following link:

Here is Igory's Atti di Nascita, on the bottom right, #1999:

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... at=1047610

His birth was not registered until 22 July 1909, but he was indeed born 8 March 1909. His parents were listed as Giorgio Tchircow and Ada Malaspina, and the declarant was Lucilio Malaspina, (presumably) his maternal grandfather, who was 51 years old at the time.

OH MY GOODNESS!! I am forever in your debt, kind internet stranger :) Yes, Lucilio was Ada's father!

I have been searching for this for over a year. I only just discovered how the surname was spelled. Next challenge is to discover Giorgio and Ada's marriage record. They were married in Cairo in 1905. I have no idea whether any records were registered back in Italy.

Thank you so very much.

As Lucilio is listed as the declaring, I wonder if that means that Giorgio was absent from the birth? Giorgio was a Russian diplomat so traveled a lot and I always suspected that he was in a different location in March 1909.

I also find it interesting that Igory was added to the List de Leva as he technically wasn't born an Italian citizen. I was under the impression that the Lista de Leva applied only to male children born to Italian fathers.
