FRIONI FAMILY // Looking for any records

Post by LEFriona »

Hello all. I’m looking for any record of my Great-grandfather’s birth, his parents and his siblings births. I know all of the names because of family memories, but I have no evidence of (2 of) them existing outside of the United States at all.

Nazzereno Friona (1902-1983)
Born in Alatri, Roma, Lazio, Italy
Moved to the US
- wife Adelina (Anna) Porreca
Brother in US:
Felice (Phillip) Friona

Siblings in Italy:
Sisto Frioni
Fortunato Frioni
Francesca Frioni
Giovanni Battista Frioni?

- Parents:
Antonio Frioni
Mary Quattrociocchi
(I know this only because of Nazzereno’s Marriage record)

If anyone has any kind of info PLEASE reach out!!
:)

Unfortunately, there are very few records online for Alatri:

You can go through them to see if you find anything.

Alatri was part of the Vatican States and civil records did not begin until 1871. The town still has all its civil records and the parish churches (6 of them) have records going back to 1593. I live about 20 km from there. Its a beautiful town, very historic.

How can I access parish records? I do not speak Italian, nor the dialect and I wouldn't want to cause confusion or be disrespectful. I have an idea what parish they belonged to but I do not know for sure. So unfortunate that everything I need is still papal state dates!
