Ancestor's Death in Carcere di Lucera

Post by sidney512 »

Hi all, in the processetti records for a marriage (linked below) I found a strange death record for Matteo Paonetti, saying he (reportedly) died in the prison of Lucera. Is there a way I can find more information as to why he was imprisoned or when it happened? Were there any historical events around this time that contributed or was this likely a smaller incident? Thanks in advance for any information that can be provided.
