I'm still looking for the birth record of my 2nd great-grandfather Rocco Malfa but found his marriage record. Was wondering if anyone could give a quick summary of what the documents are and if you could translate any part mentioning Rocco Malfa and his birthplace if possible. I posted the images on the site/link below since there are a bunch and so you don't have to download them. Thanks.

Translation of marriage records
Re: Translation of marriage records
This appears to be the collection of documents provided for marriage, sometimes called "allegati" and sometimes called "processetti."
The first document is a certificate of no opposition to the marriage resulting from the publication of the banns. It holds the following information:
Groom: Rocco Malfa, unmarried, age 24, mariner/sailor, born in Terranova, residing in Scoglitti, son of deceased Clemente [Malfa], and of deceased Emmanuela Maganuco.
Bride: Giovannina Sigona, unmarried, age 16, born and residing in Scoglitti, daughter of Francesco [Sigona] and of Maria Micieli.
Scoglitti is a hamlet (village) of the comune of Vittoria in the Province of Ragusa in Sicily.
This record (4th and 5th in the group) is the birth extract for Rocco Malfa in Terranova
#17
Dated 27 January 1883 = birth on 23 January
Father: Clemente Malfa, 52, mariner/sailor residing in Terranova
Mother: Emmanuela Maganuco, 41, his wife

Re: Translation of marriage records
A correction to the DAY of birth for Rocco - birth on 22 January 1883.
And mother's given name is Emanuela with one "m"
FYI - Rocco was presented for registration at the town hall in Terranova di Sicilia by a midwife who assisted with the birth, and because the husband of Maganuco was away.
And this is the extract of birth of Giovannina Sigona...
Born 29 January 1891, and presented by her father Francesco at the town hall in Vittoria on 31 January 1891.
Father: Francesco Sigona, 37, a sailor residing in Scoglitti, in via Augusta #23
Mother: Maria Micieli, his wife, residing with him
Child born at their home at 10:05 AM on 29 January.

Re: Translation of marriage records
thank you so much! not sure if you'd know but would the birth extract for Rocco used in this marriage allegati be able to be used for dual citizenship purposes if I could not find his birth record? I have hers but his is challenging to find, so I wasn't sure if this could also be used.
Re: Translation of marriage records
You need certified copies for dual citizenship, so you will need to write to the comune regardless.
There are many records held in the towns that have not been digitized or available online.
Terranova was renamed Terranova di Sicilia, and in 1927, it was renamed Gela
EDIT TO ADD:
Here is the baptism of Rocco Malfa in Terranova (Gela today)
#40 on the right side.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... at=1546853
Using these two images (birth and baptism) you may want to write to the comune (and try the church as well) for a certified copy.
