I am looking for assistance to translate a baptism record from Latin to English.
So far, I think I have - "In the year 1874, on the first day of January, the child born to Francesco and Francesca Vadala was baptized.... ". That's all I could translate. If some kind soul could verify if I have the beginning correct and translate the rest, that would be great.
Some background. The civil record dated in December has her name as Teresa Arcione and only showing a midwife, no parents. The parent's were married four years later and it appears marriage was to legitimize the birth of the child. I'm thinking the baptism would confirm that it's their legitimate child and not a foundling or a child they took in.
Thank you very much,
Charlene

Re: Baptism Translation Latin to English
After the parents’ names, it says spouses (married couple) of this parish. The infant was given the name Tiresia and then there is another name which looks similar to the second name in the margin. I’m reading the name in the margin as Caminito (which to me is a surname). The surname Arcione does not appear in this record. The godmother was Giuseppa Bellatani or Bellatoni, daughter of Filippo.
It would have been helpful if you also posted the other records (or specifically links to the records, if online). Also the town for the records would have been helpful.
