Help locating birth record
Help locating birth record
Hi,
I’m searching for the 1892 birth record of Antonietta Lavecchia in Marsico Nuovo. It’s noted as record #5 in part 2 of the register:
https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/co ... pId=218803
I have gone through every page of the 1892 births but wasn’t able to find it:
https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/co ... pId=143539
Is the record missing or am I overlooking it?
Thanks!

Re: Help locating birth record
Hi,
Do you know the names of both parents and when they got married?

Re: Help locating birth record
I believe her parents were Francesco LaVecchia and Battista Taranto. I'm hoping her birth record will confirm same.
Re: Help locating birth record
Marriage for Francesco Saverio Lavecchia to Battista Taranto in Marsico on Apr 23, 1891.

Re: Help locating birth record
Thank you. I already have their marriage records. I'm trying to find the 1892 birth record of Antonietta Lavecchia in Marsico Nuovo, whom I believe is their daughter. Her birth is noted as record #5 in part 2 of the register but it appears to be missing or perhaps I've not seeing it.
Re: Help locating birth record
I don't have a subscription for Ancestry, but registers are on FS, too.
Though, I can't find her in the 1892 index: what am I doing wrong?

Re: Help locating birth record
The index on Ancestry is not a birth, but a death index.
Record #5 in supplement of 1892 is for the death of Antonietta Lavecchia, age 80, who died in 1888.

Thank you very much!
Re: Help locating birth record
Do you know if Antonietta had any brothers or sisters?
Are you sure that she was born in Marsico Nuovo?

That's why I couldn't find her...

Re: Help locating birth record
Pippo, it stumped me as well!

But when I compared the birth index on Ancestry with the one on FS for 1892 - they were different. It took some time, but I eventually found that it was a death index.
