My great grandmother was Emmanuaele Pepe. She suppose to be born 5 Sept. 1869 in Altavilla Silentina. Her father Michele Pepe and Mother Maddalena Scarpa.

Can you find her birth? If found do they have where baptized and full name of parents.

My great grandfather Guiseppi Cornetta. Born 29 Dec. 1865 In Altavilla Silentina. I f find, can have proof of date, if baptized where and name of parents.

Thanks. This helps a lot. Strange first names same for fathers of Pepe and his wife. I guess they have different last names.

Guiseppe and Emmanule had son just before came to US. He was named Matteo. It probably be just after they married. He died when young in US. Maybe you can find his birth in same area as parents. I got some other info. I will check and post.

Some additional info I have.

Matteo suppose to be born 1890. He came with parents to New York City May 5, 1891. He died in N. Y. April 16, 1892.

Other info on Madelina Scarpa Pepe. They say birth Nov. 1850 in Altavilla Silentia. She was said to have 7 children. Trying to get info on all. She and Michele came to US June 3, 1893. She died in 1923.

Hope to find her birth and Michele birth. Also more on when they married and other children.

Maddalina wrote on census she had 7 children. We now have Emmanuella, Antonio, Carmine, Angela, Andrea, and Lucia. It could have been mistake and only six.

Angela born 30 June 1871

On that census, there should be 2 columns for births - # of births and # of living children.
What does she indicate for living children. It is possible that one of her children died.
