New owners may not be as scrupulously bound to maintain confidentiality, to even necessarily honor the agreements that we all signed up for. Original owner did not set that bar very high to begin with.
I had personal experience with a minor breach (not the famous one) and could never get past the bots they had responding to emails to talk sense to a person. They could not walk the talk at all.
