Digital Copy of Estratto OK or need physical copy for Jure Sanguinis?

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Digital Copy of Estratto OK or need physical copy for Jure Sanguinis?

Post by jamesm113 »

Last month, I requested birth and marriage estratto records for my great-grandfather and great-grandmother from their original Italian hometown. I used the request forms from the US consulate and sent the request via email.

Today, I received a response from the comune via email with just a PDF copy of the records I requested. Everything looks correct to me. Will a print out of this email and PDF be sufficient for jure sanguinis applications at the Los Angeles and San Francisco consulates?

If not, do I simply need to ask for directions on how to pay to have physical copies sent to my US address?

Thanks!
