Hi, Everyone-

Has anyone else been having issues with Antenati the last couple of days. The hot-link for a given series of record is showing me the above. Just wondering if "it's me" (my computer?) or what.

Thanks.

It's not you :-)
A causa di malfunzionamenti e delle conseguenti verifiche ed azioni tecniche messe in atto, il funzionamento del Portale Antenati ha subito e potrà subire, anche nei prossimi giorni, rallentamenti nella fruizione degli oggetti digitali.

Stiamo monitorando e lavorando affinché tutto possa risolversi.

Ci scusiamo per il disagio.

Hi, T. Thanks for the message. I guess I didn't see where you saw this (but no matter). Appreciate the info.

I looked over there. It's still down.

It's been a few days already.

Would anyone translate the message to English. I’ve been unable to use Antenati all week. Thank you.

Helen, I've just used the site and it is working great for me. Re the notification box that comes up just press "x" and you should be away.

Hi Helen,

I am in the US, and just checked the Antenati site. I am still getting the error message when I try to view records.

I don’t speak any Italian, but this is a translation of the message posted by Tessa78, from Google Translate:

Due to malfunctions and the resulting checks and technical measures implemented, the Ancestors Portal has been affected and may experience delays in the use of digital objects in the coming days.

We are monitoring and working to resolve this issue.

We apologize for the inconvenience

Just tried again. I tried the suggestion. Didn’t work for me. Additional error notices: The string did not match the expected pattern.

Thanks to all. Will let you know if I manage to get back on.

I just posted an update to a comune record inquiry on the Immigration, Emigration... sub-forum. Related to that, I'm (almost) starting to wonder if Antenati will somehow soon morph to be come a fee-based web-site. I sure hope not (the existing agreements with the various municipalities for records access may preclude that, I know), but I suppose I'm becoming somewhat a skeptic (more cynical) as to all the changes these Italian municipalities are undergoing, i.e., in terms of new fee structures for old records requests, etc. It's pretty depressing...

I would not mind paying a fee for Antenati if it meant that it operated FAST and had more frequent updates. I'd definitely pay for that.

Sorry that didn't work for you Helen. I seem to be the only one not having issues with the site? I've been able to use it these past few days. Last week while using it though I found the images were taking ages to load. Today the images are loading very quickly so I hope it remains that way.

Hope you'll all be able to use the site again soon.

Definitely still broken for me, has been since last Thursday.
I've sent a few notices to them using the contact form, passing on the detailed error messages, and today asking for a possible date when things might be usable again.

I decided to step away for a few days, instead of continuing to make myself crazy.

Good to know that it is back up.

Thank you, everyone!
