I am looking for more information on the Briscione family. My grandfather was Angelo from Contursi. I know that he had a sister who married a Siani, but there were other brothers in NY or NJ who he lost touch with.

Re: looking for Briscione
Yes, that is my Angelo. My father was the only son. He had two male cousins from NY, Salvatore and John. I don't believe either of them had children. I know, however. that Angelo had more siblings who emigrated.
thanks for the quick reply

Re: looking for Briscione
It appeared to me, especially with the line drawn thru 16, that Angelo was joining his brother in law.....my mistake.....
but on a positive note....I'm proud to say that at least I can admit my mistakes!!!
Thank you so much for pointing that out Esperanza!!!!!

Re: looking for Briscione
Thank you all for the help. Angelo's wife was Josephine Boniello, she had brothers Carmine, Sal, and John and a sister Concetta [married Zerbino]
The town is Contursi and there are hot springs {sulpher} there and two spas. We have been in contact with some of the cousins in Italy. Unfortunately they don"t speak English and since my aunts and parents died no one speaks Italian. I am really interested in finding the family of Angelo's brothers in the states if they exist. The name is uncommon and I believe anyone with that surname may be a relative.
All of the other info is my family. Josephine travelled with my aunts Mary, amelia and Florence. The three girls were all blone or red haired which is also unusual for southern Italy. My aunts used to say the family had French roots, but how did they get to Contursi? The Siani connection is also correct. My father had an Aunt Mary and I remember the names Adolph and Amelia as his cousins.
I am amazed that you all have found all of this info in so little times. My family would love to connect with Angelo's brothers' decendents.

Re: looking for Briscione
Is it possible Angelo's manifest says he was met by his father-in-law,Carmine Boniello. The age seems right and he would be traveling with his son Sal, Josephine's brother? Even the adress in Newark is familiar.
Re: looking for Briscione
Have you put the name thru a white pages listing, sending out letters of inquiry to those listed...worth a try.

Re: looking for Briscione
Thanks, I tried that before. Those are all my family.
Re: looking for Briscione
jcsm has also given you some great advice. At some point you will need to verify all the "possible" relatives. This is a sure way of doing it! I recently realized the importance of having documents...very important in any research. Thanks Nonna..jcsm400 wrote:Nice finds on the manifests, wldspirit & Esperanza!
