Falletti Family

Post by Cindybabe »

Looking for information on Falletti Family of Italy? Alfonso or Alphonso Falletti came to America in 1900. He was born in about 1875. He married an American girl, then he moved to Cananda, than came back to America. He has a mother named Emelia? A sister named Lina? Supposely Alfonso came from a rich family, maybe of honor, not really sure. If anyone has any info to help put this puzzle together, then I can provide more information on this Alfonso. Thanks

Yes, I believe that is him. What I am trying to find out, is his roots, who his parents were, brothers or sisters. I know his mother's name was Emelia, and a sister named Lina. The spelling for Falletti might be wrong, it could be Faletti, Felletti, the documents that I have seen, show Falletti, and Alfonso, when Alphonso also. We heard that he was hiding out from family members at one time. I just need help on seeing who he was, and his relatives. Thanks, if you can find any more please let me know.

For Falletti family history, check out Pertusio Italy. It seems that many in the Faletti family were born in that town around the time Alonso was born.

My grandfather was born in 1890 and came to America in 1917 and then brought his wife to American in 1922.

Matteo Falletti - had six brothers - two of which came to American.
Dominica (Vallero) Falletti

The Falletti peoples it are in the north as in the south Italy.. but the peoples of south Italy also they coming from Piedmont region......
the Nuccia ship manifest found is very helpful! I also found a ship's manifest of Alfonso Faletti age 25, arrived in USA in Jun 10, 1900 port of departure: Southampton, the name is mistaken as Alfonso Faeletto, but from direct reading, is really Falletti, before in USA 3 months or 3 years(illegible) and joining in Kansas to wife.., he is a lawyer..italian, but no birthplace listed...

maybe can help, and perhaps we can find the first travel, maybe we can know the italian birthplace, regards, suanj

Thanks DFalletti and Suanj, I will check these out. It is kind of hard to understand the Italy Families with their long names. and who belongs to what family. But when Alfonso Falletti came to the United States in 1900, he came to Kansas, MO. I believe he had family there. He did not marry until 1903. He married Lucy May Rhoads. There is a large Italy Community in Missouri, Kansas, and in Illnois there to this day. I have seen letter's the Alfonso's sister wrote him back in 1923, and earlier times from. His sister Lina, I believe her name is, showed that she was from some place called Castelunovo Dauno? Thsi was on the envelope the letter came in. But any other information would help to find out who Alfonso's family was. thanks..

Your welcome. I will post more on this, Searching my family records I know they came from Pertusio but also the Borolo area, Milan etc. I'm going to Italy this Sptember for the first time and hope to make contact with family. I have been able to trace it back to the 1600's. I have listings of many Falletti families in that area and do plan on mailing them with what I know. I'm sure I have many cousins. My grandfather and grandmother had a toal of nine brothers and three sisters. I can't imagine how many second cousins I have. I'm sure to find out. I have asked for help from the comune as to how I can trace records while there. I'll keep Alfonso in mind and see whay I can find and post the results.

Keep in touch.

HI, Dfalletti.
I live in the area, not far from Pertusio.
If there's something you'd like to know in order to prepare your next trip here, try and ask and I'll see if I'm able to answer.
In any case, I hope you'll enjoy your staying here.

Ciao,
Maurizio

Thank you Maurizio,

I'm looking for relatives who live in the area. My grandfather was Matteo Falletti and his father was Guiseppi Lornzo Falletti. My grandfather had six brithers but I don't know their names but still searching our records.

My grandmother was Dominica Marianna Vallero bron in 1897. She had brothers and sisters. Her father was Alessandro Vallero and mother Tolanda Vallerro

My grandparents and father were in touch with family until a1981.

I'm use I have many second cousins living and possible my fathers first cousins.

My aunt Margherita Falletti was born in 1921 also in Pertusio.

Stefano Falletti is councilman for Pertusio and might have information.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am also a Faletti from Illinois and my ancestors are from Pertusio.

My great-grandfather Matthew was born in 1866 and came to the U.S. in about 1880. His father (my great-great-grandfather) was Michele and his mother was Felicia Manieti. Michele's father was Matteo Faletti, all from Pertusio.

Matthew married Magaret Pomatto in 1888 in Braidwood, Illinois. He died in 1940 in Standard, IL

My grandfather, one of eight children, John Baptist Faletti was born 1893 in Braidwood, IL. He died in 1961.

My father, also one of eight children, Thomas Faletti was born in 1930 in Standard, IL

Thank you for your e-mail. My grandfather was Matteo Falletti and was born in 1890 in Pertusio. His fahter Guiseppe was from Pertusio. My grandfather's mother was Pommatto, Maragharita. He came to America with his brother Peitro Falletti in 1917. My aunt was born in Pertusion and her name was Maragharita Alda Falletti. My grandmother was Dominica Vallero, her father and mother was, Alessandro Vallero and Tolanda Vallero as listed on the record af baptisim, but on the birth record listed her parents as being, Guiseppe (with no last name) and Ellana Bernardina, (no last name) who lived in Pertusio. On documents thier name was spelled both ways. Faletti and Falletti. As far as I can see my great grand father was born around 1860.

Looking at y ourinformation and mine, our great grand fathers must have been brothers. I beleive that my great great grand father was Sabatino Falletti but I'm still trying to verify this. Please email me with any information you have at dfalletti57@comcast.net.

Thank you for your e-mail.

My Great Great Uncle was Matteo Falletti, my grandma was Margret Falletti-Toth, she was in fact born in Italy, and was brought to the United States as an infant. We were in the coal mining industry. We settled in Southern Illinois. I would appreciate any Info on my family History.
