Good news, good news, good news!!! After 3 years of looking at manifests, I finally found the missing Tucciarone family! They were on the Konigin Luise in 1906. Last name listed as Sicc...one in the manifest search, but when I read the actual manifest it was obviously Tucciarone. Found three children listed, Maria Grazia (most likely Mary), Francesca (Frances), and Pasquale (my great-granfather Joseph?).
I'm 100% positive this is them, because they were going to see husband/father Davide Tucciarone in Rochester, PA, complete with the correct address on Connecticut Avenue.
Yippee, yahoo, hurray! I'm so excited!

Re: Tucciarone
All I can say is the census taker must have been in a hurry or not paying attention. The facts seem way off, but it was enough to find the correct information and make a match. Something still seems wrong with them living on Vermont Avenue. The streets are very near each other. Is it possible the house was turned and he entered them on a cross street? Not sure, but in any case, it is definitely them. I know Joseph have a sister Frances, but did not know about Mary or John. I still haven't found John listed in the manifest. Mariano was found in a manifest alone, as was Davide (several times).mfjp wrote:You mean to tell me that....
Name: David Tzrtana... Age in 1910: age 36 in the census record just recently placed is... supposed to be David Tucciarone?

Re: Tucciarone
Congradulations. I know how rewarding it is to finally find a passenger manifest that has been so elusive. With that indexing its a wonder you ever found it.
Re: Tucciarone
I had been searching for Guiseppe and variations of that name, along wiht misspellings, etc. Tried various spellings for Tucciarone too. What finally helped was searching for his sister, Francesca, during 1906. I never would have found Joseph listed as Pasquale, and his mother listed so strangely also. Doesn't look anything like her name. I didn't know Maria Grazia (Mary) even existed.
I'm on cloud nine today. What a nice holiday present.

Re: Tucciarone
To Sue1anne, you are correct. My grandmother was Mary Ricci and she did marry Emil Signore (from Minturno). Mary Ricci (or Rich as they later changed it to) was the sister of Catherine, your great grandmother. They all lived in Rochester, PA, my grandfather had a barber shop there.sue1anne wrote:<quote>This is so amazing! My grandfater was Joseph Emil Signore (lived in Rochester from age 5 to age 95). He was named after his uncle - Emil Signore, who was a barber in North Rochester! How are Mary Ricci and Joseph Tucciarone related again? This is very interesting. sue1anne, did you see my longer post on the other Tucciarone page? That explains more about my family's history.</quote>
emmakate, please email me at sue1anne@gmail.com
We are definitely related and I have a lot of information on this family from Rochester. Maybe we can fill each other in on missing links and info.

In fact I was looking at your great grandmother's wedding photo just this afternoon. I have a copy of it.

Hi and thanks for responding to my post. I have more information from family since this post, but you probably know all about it. The barbershop building also had a candy shop next door and the families lived above them. Is that correct? I have a sketch of what it looked like. It seems I'm always in the wrong place to do research! I used to live in PA and now that I'm in Oregon I need to be there. Anything else you can tell me or send would be very much appreciated. I LOVE family stories too.
I was able to find both the Ricci and Tucciarone families immigration records a few years ago. I'd love to get more family information about the Tucciarones and Riccis before they came to America. Feel free to write me at the same email address I posted previously.
As a side note, my sister was named Ricci (pronounced Ricki) after the family.
