Have you contacted Laura from The Termini Imerese Genealogy site?
She is wonderfully helpful and has extracted thousands of Civil Records which you can access for a fee. I have been in contact with her a few times.
the site addy: http://www.termini-imerese.org/home.htm
Best of luck!

Re: still at a dead end
You haven't given much info, but a simple search at Ancestry.com turns up a few hits. The number of hits is small enough however that it leads one to wonder if the name is misspelled. For example, I also find a small number of "sassareno" and "sasserino".dragonflyjoe wrote:im in the same boat i cant find anybody that has my biirth surname

Your birth certificate will list your parent's full names. From that, you may want to seek out your father's father. If he (your grandfather) emigrated from Italy, you may want to try to find a naturalization record for him. These records seem to be very accurate as to name spellings, place and date of birth, etc.
Check out the message near the bottom of this thread http://italiangenealogy.tardio.com/Foru ... =6294.html which begins with "True, but first things first."
Re: still at a dead end
maybe it could be right Sassarini, as exist in Italy and it are just some Sassarino but it is a mistaken version of original Sassarini.. however the surname coming from Liguria region.... regards, suanjdragonflyjoe wrote:im in the same boat i cant find anybody that has my biirth surname

Re: still at a dead end
I am not going to suggest that it would be easy or pleasant, but in most states you can get a court order to release adoption records if you can prove a compelling need which goes beyond mere curiosity. You may want to discuss the issue with an attorney.dragonflyjoe wrote:thank you all ,well i dont have much info because i was adopted and alot of my info is being hidden from me my adopted surname is manfredi and my mothers maiden name is urso. i cant get any info rom my family but i do know i was adopted from ange guardian adoption agency in mineola new york.

I am an adoptee as well (from Massachusetts) there is an amazing variation in available information depending on which state we were adopted from. I would look into it!

PLEASE contact Laura Johnson from : http://www.termini-imerese.org/
(this is not her email address, just a link to her public genealogy website on Termini)
I can provide her email to you in private. She has extracted almost all of the Civil Records (Birth, Marriage, Death) from The Stato Civile of Termini (LDS Microfilm).
You could have a wealth of information about your ancestors, you just need to contact her. Also Temini is an Arberesh town, meaning you have Greek & Albanian blood as well.
Let us know how it goes!
