Castro surname

Post by Ivrim »

Hi,
My maternal grandfather was born in Sicily around 1900. He was adopted by a German and has his last name, Hellyar. However, his brother is Frank Castro. I was wondering about the origins of the name Castro and if there is anyway of tracing the Castros back in Sicily. I'm 1/4 Sicilian.
Thanks,
Ivrim
