My grandfather was Phillip Dattalo born in the USA
His parents was Salvatore Dattalo (b. 1872) and Giovanna Bonnano (b.1880).
His grandparents were Pietre Dattalo (b. 1854) and Anna Fontana (b. 1848)
His great grandparents were Vincenzo Dattalo and Paola Fontana
The family is from Gibellina, Trapani, Sicily
When I search the white pages I find no living Dattalo in Italy/Sicily!
Could we have the surname spelled wrong?

Re: Dattalo
Dattalo is not an Italian surname listed in the Italy surname dictionarhy so is either local in origin or "imported". There are no Dattlo lkisted as living in Italy at this current time and there are only 9 listed int he ellisisland,.org website. The www.familyserach.org show all Dattalo in the the USA and no where else. I even checked Argentina , Chile and brazil with no success. I should imagine there might be several persons in Italy with that surname but they do no appear to show up anywahere at the moment. The name is fairly unique!! =Peter=
