No, I did not transcribe them all, only Valle dell'Angelo. I posted this list I made last week because it is very interesting to know what exactly is available at the Archdiocese in Vallo.

I have been thinking of scanning all indices but need to buy a new scanner if I want to do that.

I can do some lookups when I go there again. This will be the last 2 weeks of July and the first 2 of August 2009. Also May 2010 and maybe the last 2 weeks of December 2009.

hi, my great grandfather born in Valle del'Angelo, but he is registered in Vallo della Lucania, his name is Barbato Rubano, do you find some record of her? in 2004 I send some letters for many comunes and i have reply from diocese of Vallo della Lucania with her batism record.

I have Birth and Mariage records available back to 1809 and Death records back to 1766.

Hi Edmondo, I am new around here.I've read your post that you will transcribe the records of Valle dell'Angelo.I am looking for my son's great grandfather. In his marriage certificate it says he is natural from Piaggini, Vallo della Lucania,but a researcher in Italy told me that the Uficio Civile was not found, maybe it is Valle dell'Angelo.
If you transcribe these records, is there any way for me to get access?
His name was Amadeu Rubano, his father was called Vito, his mother Carmella, maybe Tomasino.He had 2 brothers and 2 sisters, wich the names were Pascoal, Antonio, Sofia and Giovoanna.Amadeu Rubano was born in 1896 or 1898, the family came to Brazil around 1907.
If you could help me with any information I would be very gratefull.=)

I am trying to find out how I can research my family. My family name is Bartolomucci and my ancestors left Picinisco, Italy between 1884 and1890 and settled in Nottingham England. I do have their names and year of birth of all but one.

I am going to Picinisco in a few weeks time and would be very grateful for any hints of how to find details of my family, I do not read Italian.

Read this short piece on Italian records which will familiarize you with whats avilable for you in the towns City Hall (UFFICIO DI STATO CIVILE) which is usually in the center of the town. Go to www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwisdom/saviello2.html

Go to www.nonsolocap.it and type in Vallo Della Lucania and then clcik CERCA. The next page comes up showing Vallo Della Lucania , with zip code and province initials so click on the name Vallo Della Lucania and a web page will come up for the town. Scroll down to MUNICIPIO and that is the address in the town office of Vital Statistics or UFFICIO DI STATO CIVILE. To the right is a www for the tourist portion of the town which is in Italian and english but may also have fotos of the town.

I am in Valle dell'Angelo right now where I had some big problems with my computer.

I have checked my database but I found no Rubano with the name Amadeo.

A big part of the stato civile in Piaginne has been destroyed, maybe that is why the researcher did find no records. Who was this researcher?

If Amadeo is born in Piaggine after 1896 church records can not be found at the Archdiocese in Vallo della Lucania.
If I can find the time I will ask the priest if I can to have a look in the local records.

In 1868 there is no birth with the name Pietro or surname Salomone in Valle Dell'Angelo. Also this surname is not a known one in Valle dell'Angelo.

I found a Maria Giovanna Coccaro born August 30, 1872 (registered August 31).
Daugther of Filomena (di Vito) Troise, born abt. 1842 and Vincenzo (di Giovanni) born abt. 1836.

There is no other Maria Giovanna Coccaro born in 1872 but you have to be sure about the year because this is a very common name.

Edmondo, on marriage act, Pietro Salomone declaring that he was born in Sacco town, but I know not if he really born in Sacco... also the birthyear could be wrong ....

Yes , that is my grant-grandmother. Her parents were Filomena Troise and Vicenzo Coccaro. Thanks for finding that !

With respect to Pietro Salomone, my grant-grandparents had known each other for all their lives. So I know they lived nearby. He declared that he was born in sacco but sacco has not records of him. Can you check 1869, 1870 and 1871 as well please.

His parentes were Luiggi Salomone (born about 1833) and Teresa Pagano.
