There is a firm in Chicago who will quote you and do the same work and they have experience from what I gather (I reside in NY). Go to www.icapbridging2worlds.com/default.aspx

If you are Calabrese then you know what "Ca nesshun'e fessa" means . Ask themfor a quote.. but they won;t know (the same as an attorney will not know) if there are any inherent problems amongst the 7 that have to be sorted out and less likely to squeeze more money out of you. =Peter=
Sorry Peter, we're 2nd generation Calabrese.
Our Italian is limited to certain phrases, "capa tosta" for example.

Dear Donald the phrase is loosley translated as "everyone is alert and not stupid when it comes to self interest" and is meant to direct your attention to where you might get the best deal for thebuck as it were.

By soliciting a few quotes from non-attorneys for performing clerical functions and submitting same to an administrative body based soley upon documents will permit you to make a more informed decision. =Peter=

Peter, thank you for the information and advice.

I think the basic concern/problem that we have is our lack of knowledge with regards to the Italian language.

Just yesterday I received a letter from the Cosenza Archives in response to an online request I made in August. My best guess is that the are asking for payment of 1.80 Euros via an international money order, but I cant be sure.

Hiring a professional, we hope, would allow us to make 1 payment (large as it is) an allow an "expert" to correspond with the Italian authorities and translate documents as needed.

I think Playland use to have a "POP" (Pay One Price) ticket years ago, that's what we need. :)
