Fazenda Antonio Loureiro San Simao SP Brazile 1897 - 1902
Fazenda Antonio Loureiro San Simao SP Brazile 1897 - 1902
Have reached a deadend and would appreciate assistance.
The Serpieri family emmigrated from Le Marche, via Genova, aboard the
San Gottardo, arrived in Santos June 5, 1897. They worked a 5 yr contract at the Fazenda de Augusto Loureiro in San Simao. My grandparents met and married at the Paroquia Sao Simao Apoltolo, in the Arquidiocese de Riberirao Preto in 1900.
These are my research questions
Cannot find a date or port of entry for my Grandfather, Antonio Lodi, he emmigrated from Medolla in ( MO)
Cannot find any history, employment contracts or pictures of this Fazenda
Cannot find any census for this region or time period
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hi,
the census are no available ... but by Mormon's microfilms you can see the church and civil records:
Place Brazil, São Paulo, São Simão
Topics Brazil, São Paulo, São Simão - Church records
Brazil, São Paulo, São Simão - Civil registration
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library ... umns=*,0,0
however if you wrote this message http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/t ... 1236627305
the Fazenda was: Fazenda Augusto Loureiro, Sao Simao SP Brasil or
Fazenda Antonio Loureiro (?)...
Regards,
suanj

Whoops, the rootsweb was most likely my post. The correct name is Augusto Loureiro.
Because we know the birth dates of mia zia e sua cugino in Brazile e la famiglia returned to Le Marche nel 1902, my desire is to understand la storia romantica for my grandparents who came from different parts of Italy and married in Brazile.

Iolande it my be that Antonio Lodi arrived first at Buenos Aires Argentina and then went in transit to Brazil from Argentina since there are 3 Antonio Lodi (no town of origin in Italy indicated for all 3) who arrived at different years and different ages.
Moreover there are no Antonio Lodi but a number of Lodi who arrived in Santos but all with different first names other than Antonio. Is it possible he had another legal first name and was called Antonio to differentiate him from the cousins back home in Italy?? =Peter=

Peter,
Thanks for the response.
Nonno's full name was Antonio Domenico Luigi Lodi, he was born April 5, 1868. He had only 1 brother, Serafino Lodi, born 30 Apr 1864.
For many years he travelled the globe to find work, so it is possible he went to Argentina prior to Brazile. His father died in Medolla, ( MO) in 02/1896, so I am guessing he emmigrated after this date, but I am not certain. The Ufficio di Stato Civile in Medolla are rather uncooperative in responding to my requests for his emmigration information.

Re: Fazenda Antonio Loureiro San Simao SP Brazile 1897 - 190
sometimes I bet on long shots at the races and occasionally win. Of all the Antonio, Domenico or Luigi Lodientering Argentina or Brazil there were only two Luigi Lodi one of whom entered Rio in 1891 as "husband" and would be 23 years of age were he born in 1868 and the other entered Rio in 1895 as "Manager" and would be 27 years of age were he born in 1868.
Unfortunately the website did not immediately reflect their respective years of birth and so remain as the only possiblities.
The website is is in portuguese at www.memorialdoimigrante.sp.gov.br and might require further investigation should you feel it is warranted. =Peter=

Hi Yolanda,
I've found some information about Antonio Lodi and Theresa Sarpieri, that should be your Grandparents.
I Live now in Canada but I'm from Brazil and I do research in Brazil.
I'd like to know if you're still interested in this research.
Douglas
