Argentinian born, US naturalized an Italian citizen?

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Argentinian born, US naturalized an Italian citizen?

Post by LAROCCAMOM »

My mom was born in Argentina, she's about to become a US citizen, and she is planning on getting her Italian citizenship recognized.
Will she be able to do it if she already has dual citizenship?
Will she lose her US citizenship?

Thank you

Send an e-mail to the Italian Consulateuin NYC at "info.newyork@esteri.it" and ask them the same question which has no fee attached.

I believe your mom is not at risk of losing her US citizenship by having her Italian citizenship recognized and I believe there is no law in Italy that prevents her to apply for both Italian and US citizenship.
