Inforrmation - Gatto's of Cetara, Italy

I'm looking for information about my great-great grand fathe, born in Cetara, Italy in 1784. Is there some way to get information from that time period?

The Gatto Rosso Amazingly almost nothing has changed in the three years since I was here last. It was a quick drive Saturday morning on the Autostrada to Lucca. We stopped there for lunch at da Guilia. Same good (cheap) food, same waitress, and her son…grown from a little boy to a very.

I have traced my family back to Francisco Saverio Gatto, born in Cetera in 1784. I don't know how to search more about him and about Gatto's before 1784.

Unfortunately, the Family History Center does not have civil records for most of Salerno Province. I also think that you are in the time period before civil records were kept. Most started because of the Napoleonic Code. Your best bet is trying to find church records. Obviously, you have already done a lot of research. Do you have access to the names and addresses of the churches in town?
