Please Help Translate A Reply From Italy

Post by consolata »

Last August I wrote to the Comune Di Montefalcone Di Val Fortore, seeking information on my grandparents, I finally got a letter today but I am unable to read Italian and have nobody to translate for me. I was so excited to get a reply but I feel it's not good news. I have been trying for over 1 yr to fill in the blanks on my genealogy.
The letter reads:

Distini saluti

Looks like the birth records you requested can't be sent because the records from 1875 to 1879 are not there.

I was just checking the microfilm in the Family History Library. Unfortunately, it only covers civil records from 1809-1860:

Perhaps, instead, the next step would be parish records. http://www.parrocchie.it/index.html?CCH ... bella=&id=
Just put the town name in on the right side.

This came up for an address: http://www.parrocchie.it/gear/dettaglio.html?id=23315
