I'm looking for the ancestors of Petrus Antonius Joostinus Anasatius Balli, son of Wilhelmus (Guglielmi?? - in English William) Balli and Helena Tonini. Baptized 29-06-1797 Cavergno (now Switzerland - Ticino) by Franciscus Balli. Godchild of Antonius Balli en Helena wife of Joannis Josephi Solano. Father Wilhelmus died 28-03-(1807?). Who can give me more detailed information?

There are 21 Tonini and 11 Balli in Cavergno, Ticino province. Perhaps you may wish to write one letter to all 32 people with an enclosed self adddressed envelope and ask them about the family. Some, if not all are related to you and you may find some cousins. Peter

Sometimes people research families while others are looking. Got to www.google.com and insert Balli and then on the second go round Tonini and the word genealogy inthe title alongside each name for anyone doing such research ont e surname itself. peter

What are you suggesting Peter? That I’m the one who is just looking? I do research for over 20 years and even if I didn’t but just started with my hobby there is no need to be offensive. My only problem is that I don’t know yet my way into the Italian or Swiss genealogical web-sites where I can search for information. I even don’t know if the exist as in Holland where a lot of archives have the data on line. Grietje
