UPDATE -Salvatore Gerardi or Mary Pusateri

Post by 3lups »

I'm Stuck.

My gr grandfather is Salvatore Gerardi (1884)
He married Mary Pusateri in Kansas City, MO.
They had Angela, Jerry and Gus?

Marys parents are Giuseppe Pusateri and Anna (Fasone maybe)
Mary had 3 brothers, Jim, Gus and Tony.

I have no idea who Salvatores parents are.

Welcome to the forum! :-)

We will do what we can to help you. The more details you provide, the easier our job will be (sometimes) :-)

Where was Salvatore born? Where was Mary born?
If they immigrated...about when?

Thank you!

They were married in 1916 in Kansas City, MO.

The 1920 census says he immigrated in 1898.

It states Mary was born in Missouri as well as their children. That's all I have. At one time, they lived in Klamath Falls, Oregon in the 20's.

I believe Marys parents are Giuseppe Pusateri 1845 abd Anna or Annie (I think Fasone) But could be wrong. The marriage license states Salvatore Fasone was her legal guardian. That could be her father, or a cousin. I got nothing else!! Very little to go on.

Anything you find will be music to my ears. Maybe I should request Marys birth certificate?

Thanks again,
Steph

Let's see if we can find an immigration manifest for Salvatore.

As for other documents...requesting Mary's birth record would be a good start.
Meanwhile, the volunteers here at the forum will help you find whatever we can.

I think it is Mar 17 1898 with Gaspare Gerardi and Son Salvatore. But the birthdate for Salvatore is off 3 years. Could be a completely different Salvatore.

It says Gaspare had been in the US from 1893-1899. Last residence S ??

He and Mary owned or operated a Hotel in KC.

However, I remember some conversation that someone in the family was in the mob. I don't know if it was him or his brother (no name) but they didn't stay in one place when their children were little. That is where Klamath Falls, Oregon comes into play.

Thank you!

Laura,

WOW!!

So I was leaning towards the Girolamo and Angela too! How you found the Angela Truglio (had never heard this name before)is amazing! That seems to fit.
I cannot find a ship manifest for Girolamo though for 1890.
What do I need next? Castelvetrano records?

So maybe they were on the run from the draft? That's why they fell off the radar after 1920?

Where do I go next?

Just this has been a huge help!

Biff and Pink 67-- YOU ROCK

Do you have the inside on getting these or are they public? You all have saved me $$$ by providing this information!

I cannot find Salvatore Truglio manifest but I think you are right on!!

My mother is in Rome right now for the 100x(exaggerating) She is 65 and never knew who her great grandparents were! She is going to be thrilled to get this information.

NOW--

How do I go further????? LOL

All information is available to the general public. You can save the images and/or print them.

Salvatore Truglio may not have emigrated to the US.

We'll see what else we might be able to find.
