Still looking for info on my Great Grandfather.His Alien Registration papers say he came here in Apr 29,1890 from Palermo,Sicily.born in 1874 or 1876.Name then was Nichlas Cira.In 1930 he lived in Chicgo,Illinois with his son.Cannot seem to find him before this.Any help.His mother was Maggie Arusa and father was Leo Cira

Also cannot find a death record for Maria.I found Nicks.Lived in Illinois

Where do I go to get a birth cert for Nick in Italy.Not sure where he was born.His alien papers say Palermo nothing else

PS the right italian spelling is Cirà ( with accent)
I totally agree with her because many of the Cirà were coming from Termini Imerese....
However have you requested this death certificate for Leo Cira who died on 1904? it's strongly possible he was Nicola's father and the death certificate may have listed his birth place...

I know Nicola's parents names are different but Nicola's age matches with the other documents I found, from the census looks like he did emigrate with his brother Domenico on 1890 and I found the arrival manifest:
