Filippo MARANO

Post by jtamatt »

I am researching my Mothers side of the family (Marano) and have not been able to get any information on family members in Italy. My Mothers g/grandfather was Filippo Marano married to Angela ? (from the village of Dagala Del Re in the Province of Catania) and they had 9 children. Rosario, Mariano, Giovani, Angela, Leonardo, Salvatore, Sebastiano, Venera & Palma.

Mariano (Mums Grandfather) & Sebastiano both came out to Australia in 1907.

Mariano Marano married Caterina Torrisi and they had 9 children, Filippo, Angela, Gaetano, Salvatore, Orazia, Maria, Giuseppe & Sebastiano (twins b.1893) & Rosario.

Giuseppe Marano (twin) married Angela Torrisi and they had 5 children, Caterina, Mario, Giuseppina, Italia (Mum), Giuseppe.

We would like to trace the family members that stayed in Italy in particular the 7 children of Filippo & Angela Marano and their families.

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Dagala del Re is a section of the town of Santa Veneria. Here is some info on the town.

http://en.comuni-italiani.it/087/048/index.html

Here is a list of the Maranos who are still in that town.
