help with translation of death records
The following record is for Biagio Paolini.
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q44/ ... 73_001.jpg
This record is for Luisa Cerasoli.
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q44/ ... ideath.jpg
Any names, ages, dates would be greatly appreciated. The first record is hand written and may be difficult. I took pictures of the film before I could use the scanner so I may have some pictures to fill in the blanks if needed.
Thank you!!!!!

Hi Katie
First document is dated 21 December 1863, and states that the declarants Leopoldo XXX, son of deceased Luigi, 24; and Sabatino Paolini, son of Nicola, 30, farmer laborer residing in Capestrano and grandsons (or nephews) of the deceased (have to reread to check this), stated that at 7 last night in his house died Biagio Paolini, 58, laborer, husband of Annadomenica Amicorelli who was born in and resides in Capestrano and is the son of Domenico and deceased Celeste Lugosome (sp?).

Re: help with translation of death records
Thank you so much! That is one generation more than I knew before which is very exciting!
Re: help with translation of death records
The second document ...
Dated 20 August 1878 - Capestrano
Declarants are Nunzio Troseca (sp?) 71, laborer of Capestrano; and Giuseppe Troseca, 50, laborer of Capestrano;
to say that at 1:30 AM today at the house on Via Pareta #21, died
Luisa Cerasoli, 1 year and 40 days old, girl "fanciulla", residing and born in Capestrano; daughter of Antonio, laborer, resident of Capestrano; and Francesca Trama, farmer, resident of Capestrano, unmarried.
Witnesses recorded after that.

Re: help with translation of death records
Okay, so the second one wasn't who I thought it was.
I thought that I would find out about Biagio's parents through his death record, but at least I know more about Annadomenica.
Records start in 1809 and he was born in 1805 so I can't look at his birth record. I have his year of birth so maybe I can find his marriage record.
Two questions...
1. Last night I looked through the Capestrano records from 1866-1887 and didn't see one Amicarelli... Any thoughts on that? I even looked at the M's thinking the "a" was like "di".....
2. Was the processetti something done every year on every family? Or was it done when there was a birth, death, etc? Biagio's daughter Celeste is my GGM... so would the processetti tell if she had any siblings?
You are awesome Tessa!
I appreciate your time, and I should return to work anyway

Re: help with translation of death records
Katie,
You may want to spend some time reviewing this site. It will help you to recognize the records you want and what they contain.
http://familyhistory.byu.edu/Downloads/ ... efault.htm
The Processetti is not a census...it is set of marriage documents that the couple provide in order to marry. That would include birth records, permission of parents (or if parents are dead, their death records), marriage banns, etc. You may want to focus your search on records other than the processetti.

Re: help with translation of death records
I'll keep my fingers crossed that someone married during the 2 years covered in the film...
Thanks again!

Re: help with translation of death records
Can anyone tell if Sabatino Paolini is the nephew or grandson of Biagio?
I found a Sabatino Paolini on ancestry and would like to see if there is a connection.
Thanks again!

Re: help with translation of death records
The word nipoti is used for both nephews and grandchildren. It is hard to say.
Sabatino's father is Nicola who is still living at Biagio's death.
The other young man is Leopoldo whose last name is very hard to read but could be something close to Rutrolanta (?). His father is Luigi who is deceased.
Another clue that may help you if you find other records...
Biagio died in the house on Via Toro(?)

Re: help with translation of death records
Okay, thank you.
I've been staring at Celeste's last name and I can't figure it out!
Lugosome?
Lupo?
Lugo?
I might look to see if I took a picture...It just doesn't look like anything..

Re: help with translation of death records
Looking at the document...could definitely be 1873...
sessanta and settanta look similar with some handwriting...
I would go for the 1873...
That would make Sabatino's DOB about 1843.
