Piedmont Region

As a nation state, Italy has emerged only in 1871. Until then the country was politically divided into a large number of independant cities, provinces and islands. The currently available evidences point out to a dominant Etruscan, Greek and Roman cultural influence on today's Italians.

I just found the above link to the Piedmont region of Italy. Lots of wonderful old photos, recipies, proverbs, all from the Piedmont region.

Thought this might be of interest to those with relatives from this region.

The subject was covered here in 2008 but if you go to Google.com and put in "Lanteri surname Sicily Italy" all of this will come up for your review and research. =Peter=
