Piane Crati birth certs 1910-1920

Post by fishacura »

Let me first start by re-introducing myself. I started researching my genealogy in 2002-2003...then the kids came  needless to say I have been quite busy. So I am getting back into it and the oddest thing has happened...the more recent ancestors are the most difficult.

I can find my Great Grandparents birth records from the late 1800s fairly easily because they're on microfiche through family history centers.

Here's my issue, my grandparents were born in 1918 and 1925 respectively. The LDS recrods typically only go up to 1910 for this region.

Anyone have any experience going to a small town in Cosenza for birth recrods after 1910? If so, I'd love any advice. I cannot even find a place to start with a town so small...

I'm going to post another email with my family places and surnames in case anyone sees a connection. Hello again!!!

The very small comuni can be the best of all. Try writing and requesting copies of birth/marriage/death certificates; shouldn't cost you anything more the price of postage.

Ufficio dello Stato Civile
Comune di Piane Crati

Thanks Carmine! I'll do my best to help people the way you've helped me. I may be somewhat new but have a little bit of knowledge as well that I can pass along.
